UK Visa

UK Visa Application from Thailand

UK visa is an entry permit offered to some foreign nationals who are required to secure an entry clearance to be able to travel to the United Kingdom. Thai nationals are among those nationalities who need to obtain this permit for whatever travel purpose they might have in entering the country.

However, applying for UK visa may not come so easy to some applicants especially the first timers due to the constant changing of immigration policies. For this, it is highly recommended to seek the assistance of a certified immigration expert who dedicates his/her time in monitoring any changes on policies and processes.

WHERE TO LODGE THE VISA APPLICATION

Applicants may submit their application at the VFS office which in turn forward it to the UK Embassy for processing. The VFS is in partnership with the UK Embassy and manages the visa application centre for UK Visas and Immigration in Thailand.

Please note that the VFS is not the one who decides the approval or rejection of visa applications. It would still depend upon the discretion of the processing consular officer.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS?

HOW LONG IS THE PROCESSING TIME?

The processing times also depends on the type of UK visa and/or if the UK Embassy requires further investigation or additional documents from the applicant. But generally, non-settlement visas like the visitor visa would take 15 working days, while for those who have travelled to UK, Australia, US, New Zealand or in any Schengen countries in the last 5 years, the processing time may only take 5-7 working days.

Please note that the VFS is not the one who decides the approval or rejection of visa applications, it would still depend upon the discretion of the processing consular officer.

WOULD THERE BE AN INTERVIEW?

Interview is generally not required but may be applied to some applicants if the Embassy deemed it necessary to conduct further clarification on their case. This is usually done over the phone and with interpreter.

Before submitting all your documents, we strongly recommend that you make some copies for yourself so you’ll have some reference in case the UK embassy will conduct an interview with you. If an interview is to be conducted, don’t forget to take note on everything from your conversation including the questions that you are asked and the answers that you provide. Your record can provide us accurate basis for more representation in case your application is refused.
